How To Turn On Advanced Messaging On Any Samsung Galaxy

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the MORE icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Chat settings.
  5. Select the following options to modify your settings:
    • Send read receipt (ON/OFF)
    • Multimedia limit
      • Automatically accept all
      • Automatically accept files less than 3000 MB in size
    • Roaming auto download (ON/OFF)
    • Image size
      • Best available
      • Original
      • Large (50%)
      • Medium (20%)
      • Small (10%)
    • Share typing indications (ON/OFF)

Turn Advanced Messaging On / Off

 

To use advanced messaging, participants must have VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling enabled. To turn advanced messaging on or off, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap the MORE icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Voice over LTE settings.
  5. Select one of the following:
    • Turn on: Use VoLTE when available
    • Turn off: Do not use VoLTE

How To Send message

To send a message via Advanced Messaging, just follow the same steps as sending a regular text message.
  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Select the compose icon.
  3. Select a contact or enter the recipient’s phone number.
  4. Enter your message.
  5. Select Send or Blue Arrow on GS9/9+

For Samsung Galaxy Note8, S7 and newer, A5 (2017), A8, J3 Prime and J3 (2018)

If a message appears in a green bubble, it was sent via Advanced Messaging. A yellow bubble indicates a message sent via SMS or MMS.
